Nationwide Call to Action for Senate Commit to Conservation Call-in Day

Dear Agriculture,

Vermont Fisherman

Take part in the nationwide Commit to Conservation Call-in Day tomorrow, October 17th.

Take Action Now

We have an urgent farm bill need: the Senate needs to provide at least $5 billion more for conservation in the farm bill.

AFT, along with 30 conservation and environmental groups representing millions of Americans, are leading the nationwide call to action. Get ready—tomorrow, October 17th is Commit to Conservation Call-in Day.

Arrow Reserve just 1-minute out of your day tomorrow to call your Senators.

Because your Senator is on the Senate Agriculture Committee, it is especially important for you to call!

Conservation is under attack in the Senate. The programs crucial to protecting our air quality, water quality and wildlife habitat are critically under-funded—and there’s a backlog of farmers’ applications. Despite these needs, the Senate is considering providing no or meager increases for vital conservation programs. With the Agriculture Committee set to vote next week, and the full Senate vote as early as the week of October 29th, now is the time to act.

Without you voicing your concern, the Senate could pass a farm bill that leaves our environment worse off. Learn more about what conservation programs do for you and your community. And listen to Iowa producer Jim Andrew [mp3] talk about why you should Commit to Conservation and call your Senators.

We saw how much your voices mattered during the House farm bill negotiations. Now it’s time to make the Senate listen. Please let your friends and colleagues know about the Commit to Conservation Call-in Day, and thank you in advance for doing your part to help protect our air, water, land and wildlife habitat.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Daukas Signature
