Act Now for America's Farmers, Ranchers and the Environment

Dear Agriculture,

Coleman_with_grandsons

Take Action on
Climate Change

Take Action Now

We urgently need your help in contacting the House of Representatives to support the Peterson agriculture amendment to the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The amendment is likely to go to a vote on the House floor in the next two days. Please take action now to tell Congress to support the Peterson amendment.

America’s farmers and ranchers can help combat climate change by adopting new practices and technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and produce low-carbon renewable energy. Carbon sequestration projects on agricultural lands are the easiest, most readily available, and cost efficient means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions on a meaningful scale.

In recent days, compromises have been reached to recognize agriculture as a key component of climate change legislation and to address the concerns of agriculture. We believe that by maximizing agriculture's opportunities to adopt new conservation practices and technologies and produce low-carbon renewable energy, we will maximize the bill's environmental benefits!

If the Peterson agriculture amendment is successful and the bill passes, there will be opportunities to eliminate any further barriers to agriculture's participation in combating climate change when the bill goes to the Senate.

Please help us pass a bill that could bring unprecedented levels of conservation and stewardship practices to American farms and ranchesour American landscape.

Sincerely,
