Let’s Keep America Beautiful This Fourth of July, start a revolution and join the ranks of America’s first President and avid farmer, George Washington. Not a fan of battle, you say? Well, put down your bayonet and click here to join your fellow Patriots as we work to protect America’s farm and ranch land. Every hour, we lose 125 acres of farm and ranch land. That’s 3,000 acres a day and over 1 million acres a year! In the time that it took you to read this sentence, we’ve already lost 2 acres. *Poof* It’s gone forever—we all just lost irreplaceable farm and ranch land as well as access to open space, wildlife habitat and healthy, fresh food. This Independence Day, remember what our forefathers fought for and honor the traditions of this nation by preserving the land that sustains us and supporting the farmers who produce our food. Support AFT as we march forward to protect America’s working lands, support local farms, and promote a farm policy that serves farmers, ranchers and your community. We wouldn’t be American Farmland Trust without the “America” —and that’s reason enough to toss up your tricorn hat in celebration!
