Soybean Comment
November soybeans rebounded today after posting losses for the last three days. Today’s rebound kept soybeans from closing the gap set after the June acreage report. Today’s gains come as some worry about the dry weather in parts of the corn belt and national weather service forecast for hot dry weather across the corn belt in the coming weeks. With a 64.1 million acre crop, the soybeans market cannot afford to ignore a forecast for dry weather during this critical time in soybean development.

Grain Comment
Wheat futures posted sharp gains today, but still have strong resistance from the contract highs charted June 29. Strong export demand for U.S. wheat and tight global supplies are supportive, but should be factored into prices at this point.

Cotton & Rice  Date: July 18, 2007

Cotton

Spot Price, Grade 41 Staple 34: Memphis up 109 at  5970
  Greenwood up  109 at 5970

New York Futures: Oct up  84  at  6445
  Dec up  69  at  6639
 Mar up  75  at  6930
 May up  70  at  7000
 Dec '08 up  95  at  7335
This week's LDP rate for cotton is  0¢ cents
The estimate for next week is  0¢ cents
Cotton Comment
Cotton prices experienced modest gains today, as pressure from the corn and soy markets eased on weather concerns. Further strengthening in cotton prices will be difficult for the market, as the market continues to show signs that it is technically overbought. However, strong fundamentals and continued concern about weather conditions may limit the downward potential and help support cotton prices.

Rice Comment
Rice was one of the few markets that did not benefit from today’s gains in the corn and soybean markets. Lack of fresh demand and a good yield potential for this years crop continue to pressure prices, even though the market is showing signs of being technically oversold.
