Michelle Obama Kicks Off the White House Farmers Market Opening Day

	Dear Agriculture, Watch the video and share in the opening day at the White House Farmers market! Last Thursday was a great day for fresh food and local farmers as the First Lady opened the FRESHFARM Market near the White House. American Farmland Trust was happy to be there and hear her remind opening day customers that "Farmers markets do more than help Americans feed their families healthy meals, they help America’s family farmers."   We also were happy to hear Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and other officials underscore the importance of farmland and "making sure that agricultural land is preserved" for the future of farms and farmers markets.   We hope you enjoy our video of Michelle Obama, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, American Farmland Trust President Jon Scholl, Farmers Markets Coalition Executive Director Stacy Miller and others at the opening day of the farmers market by the White House.
